Leroy McCaskill

Leroy McCaskill transitioned from his earthly body on Saturday, June 8, 2019. He was born on August 31, 1952, in Kershaw County, South Carolina. He was the third child born to the late Edroy and Dora McCaskill.

Leroy was educated in the Kershaw County School System. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1970.  He retired from E.I. DuPont, where he worked for over 27 years. Leroy received salvation in the early 90’s and became an Ordained Deacon of Christian Fellowship Tabernacle Church. His favorite hobbies were football, building racing engines and drag racing. Leroy was a mentor for young adults and was well known throughout the community.

Those left to cherish his memories are: his devoted and faithful wife of 47 years, Brenda McCaskill of Cassatt, SC; his children, a daughter, Felisha D. McCaskill of Elgin, SC; three sons, Leroy Jermaine (Patricia) of Elgin, SC; Corey (Ashley) McCaskill of Columbia, SC;  Terry Smith of Sumter, SC. An honorary niece whom he helped raise, Brittany Rakes of Charlotte, NC; an honorary Daughter/Friend, Yolanda (Tony) Thompson of Atlanta, GA; a God-Son, Devonte (Sara) Thompson of Tampa, Fl and an honorary son/friend, Richard Ballard of Charlotte, NC. Five grandchildren; Daevawn McCaskill, Darieus McCaskill, Aryana McCaskill, Korey Madison McCaskill, and Lauren McCaskill. His sisters, Dorothy (Wilhelm) McCaskill-Bachmann of Columbia, SC; Patricia (Kenneth) Brooks of Camden, SC; Janie McCaskill of Cassatt, SC and one brother Lewis (Cynthia) McCaskill of Cassatt, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, first and second cousins and many friends.
