Marvin Boykin Obituary

Marvin Jerome Boykin, known to many friends as “All World”, entered into eternal life on Saturday, October 26, 2019, in Camden, South Carolina.

Born on November 3, 1959, in Camden, South Carolina, he was the son of Elizabeth Boykin and the late Bobby Gene Boykin He graduated from Camden High School, class of 1978. Marvin accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Camden, South Carolina, where he served on the Usher Board. Right out of high school, he was employed at Skyline Manufacturing Company in Camden, South Carolina, where he remained until its closing in 1990. He then gained employment with the Kershaw County Government in 1993. He was a part of the Building Maintenance Department, where he remained until his retirement in 2018.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Gene Boykin, his brother, Gregory Boykin (Sheila), and sister-in-law, Alice Jean “AJ” Boykin.

Marvin leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 15 years, Diane Boykin of Camden, South Carolina; his loving children, four daughters, La Porshia Boykin (Dwayne), Shana Boykin Champion (Marcus), and Chelsea Reynolds, all of Camden, South Carolina, and Martina Haynesworth of Albany, Georgia; two sons, Xavier Boykin (Jacqualynn) of Lugoff, South Carolina, and Kobe Boykin of Camden, South Carolina; his mother, Elizabeth Boykin of Camden, South Carolina; one sister, Wanda Boykin Middleton (Mark) of Camden, South Carolina; one brother, Keith Boykin of North Carolina; six grandchildren, Ny’Ajah Drakeford, Tyree Byrd, Morgan Champion, Khloe Boykin, Gavin Champion, and Kaden Boykin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
