Sallie C. Jefferson

Evangelist Sallie C. Jefferson, humbly bowed to God’s will and peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at KershawHealth in Camden, South Carolina. A daughter of the late John Cooper and Mattie Cooper was born April 9, 1931, in Kershaw County, South Carolina. 
    
Sallie attended Greater Faith and Joy Tabernacle Church in Lugoff, South Carolina. She immediately received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age upon entering the church as one of its first members and was called into the ministry later in life. She was baptized and found new life in Jesus Christ. Throughout her life, she strived consistently to instill her knowledge and beliefs of Jesus Christ in her family and other loved ones. Sallie never stopped preaching the word of God to everyone she came in contact with. Her answer for all matters in life was to always look to and trust in God.  She loved attending Bible Study, Sunday school, and receiving the word of God from her Pastor, Rev. Williams every Sunday. She never failed to attend church and would not miss her pastor’s teachings of God until she was no longer able to physically make the commute to church, but she always kept church within her heart. 
  
Sallie loved to speak the word of God and made sure to do so with every visit she received from family and friends. She embraced life and enjoyed spending time with her family. She would have fun and joke with her family, but would always have conversations and displayed a kind of seriousness that would always remind them of the valued morals, beliefs, and respect she taught them to have. One way she would remind her family, especially her grandchildren, to act appropriately was to remind them about what happens if grandma disapproves of their behavior. One look from her and you knew she meant business. Although a strict manner and firm hand was needed to keep her family in line, she made sure they knew how much she cared and loved them. She greatly loved her family and was equally loved in return. 
   
She was preceded in departure by her husband, Frank W. Jefferson Senior and two sons, Lawrence Jefferson and Charles Jefferson. 
   
Left to cherish her sweet memories are her two daughters, Edna Oliver (Jimmy) of Camden, SC and Dorothea J. Patterson (James) of Heath Springs, SC, three sons, Thomas Jefferson (Mae) of Camden, SC, Frank Jefferson (Lela) of Hartford, CT, James Jefferson (Marcille) of Hollywood, FL, a daughter-in-law Deborah Jefferson of Cassatt, SC, a special cousin Ethel Joe, twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, thirteen great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends
