Dave Haggins, Jr.

Dave Haggins, Jr. was born on November 2, 1953, in Bishopville, South Carolina, to the late Dave Haggins, Sr. and Jessie Boyd Haggins.  Dave departed this life on May 18 , 2023, in Columbia, South Carolina.

Dave attended the public schools in Bethune, South Carolina.  He graduated from Bethune High School, Class of 1972, where he held a track record for years and played basketball for the Bethune High School Wildcats.  He was a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church and sang on the church choir.  He was also a member of Voices of Praise Choir. 

Dave was employed at Manchester Farms in Hopkins, South Carolina for many years.  He also worked at the Kendall Plant in Bethune, South Carolina, E. L. Wright Middle School in Columbia, South Carolina, Neecie's College of Barbering in Camden, South Carolina and Nelson-Haile Funeral Home.

Dave was very well known.  He leaves to mourn his passing a son, Terrence Delvon Haggins of Bethune, SC; three grandchildren, Dorian Dayvon Haggins, Madison Johanna Haggins and Shiloh Grace Haggins who were the loves of his life; three step-grandchildren, Azaria, Zayden and Carter; his mother, Jessie Mae Haggins; a sister, Cynthia Haggins Atkinson; a brother, Dennis "Stick" Haggins; his best friend from high school, Marion Hough and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
