Bishop-Elect Dwayne Spann was born on June 16, 1971, in Camden, South Carolina. He was called home on June 19, 2026, at MUSC in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the son of George Spann, Sr. and Christine Spann.
Dwayne graduated from Hillcrest High School in Dalzell, South Carolina in 1989, where he received his high school diploma. He also attended Central Carolina Technical College, where he earned his HVAC certificate. He worked as a truck driver and served as a correctional officer with the South Carolina Department of Corrections for 10 years at Lee and Wateree Correctional Institutions. His love for animals led him to work at Wateree Animal Hospital.
Dwayne was baptized at the age of 15 at St. John Baptist Church Camden, SC. He accepted his ministerial calling at the House of God in Bishopville, South Carolina, on March 8, 2023. His love for singing led him to sing with two quartet groups. Bishop-Elect Spann loved the Lord and loved to preach the Word of God this led him to Redeemed Temple in West Columbia, South Carolina.
Bishop-Elect Spann was preceded in death by his father, George Spann, Sr., and his brother, Hosey Spann.
Bishop-Elect Spann leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Jazmine Spann; four daughters, Joycelyn Cantey, Ah-Livia Spann, Hannah Spann, and Madison Spann; two stepchildren, Vionna Ford Stuckey and Nysheim Naasir; one Granddaughter, Ahlana Nanton ,one brother, George Spann(Sherry); one nephew, Marcus Spann (Sierra); two nieces, Nicole Stanford (Reggie) and Schneka Spann; one sister-in-law, Gladys Spann; One great niece London Stanford, two aunts, Diane James (Willie) and Mable Spann; one uncle, Charlie Spann (Stephanie); one great-aunt, Felicia Jasper; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
