Jerry Smith was born February 23, 1965 as the youngest son of Isaac "Sonny Boy" Smith and the heavenly Rosa Lee Smith. Memorialized as a kind, helpful, and hard working man, he graduated from North Central High School in 1983; marrying his true love Virginia only 10 years later. Throughout his life, Jerry dedicated himself to providing for his family, caring for his parents, and devoting himself to the Lord as an avid member of Redhill Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon.
For over 40 years he would maintain over five occupations, fulfilling several positions between Walmart, Kershaw Health, Dupont, New South, and Kershaw County School System. A man of impeccable character and family values, Jerry Smith volunteered to drive the church van every Sunday; chauffeuring the elderly and anyone yearning to hear GOD's word. He enjoyed fishing, soulful music, the Dallas Cowboys, and the University of South Carolina "Gamecocks." When not working, he would spend his time with family and friends creating an abundance of unforgettable memories and life lessons.
Jerry is reunited with his mother Rosa Lee Smith and sister Rose Smith. His passing is preceded by his mother-in-law, Ida Bell Stokes, father-in-law, David Stokes Sr., and his grandparents, Fred Smith, Marie Smith, and Ruby Reeves.
Survived to cherish his memory, Jerry leaves behind his wife of 28 years Virginia Smith; daughters Felicia Heriot and Whitney Smith; daughter in law Jasmine Heriot; three sisters, Linda Brown (Carl), Kimberly Harris (Grover), and Patricia Smith; two brothers, Alphonso Smith (Patricia) and Elveridge Smith (Charlene); and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
With special acknowledgement to his best friends Ernest Taylor and Marian Stokes. "Thank you for lightening my days and bringing me joy"
