Keith W. Thompson

Keith W. Thompson was born on October 5, 1967, in Norwalk, Connecticut. He attended Norwalk Public Schools where he began his love affair with basketball.

Keith’s pride was in his talent, sportsmanship and dedication to basketball. He was a legendary basketball player at Brien McMahon High School. Keith was such a stand out student-athlete, excelling in basketball and known for his impossible-to-defend hook shot.

The list of basketball accomplishments achieved by Keith Thompson is extensive.  A few of the highlights are 1985-86 Brien McMahon Basketball MVP, University of Hartford Post All Star Team, Daily News High School Basketball All Star, Norwalk Hour All-City Boys Team.

As much as Keith loved sports and had numerous accomplishments, he was always happiest when he was at home. Keith’s greatest love was spending time with those he loved, his friends and his dogs.

On the morning of Wednesday, November 24, 2021, Keith “Fruity” Thompson, at age 54, passed peacefully at his home in Camden, South Carolina.

Keith Thompson was predeceased by his mother, Marlene Thompson and grandmother, Catherine Brooks. Keith Thompson is survived by his daughter, Lachelle Kegler; uncles, Rev. Charles Brooks, Willie Brooks and Marion Thompson and a host of other relatives and close friends.

Although a laid back and quiet soul, Keith Thompson’s legendary record will remain the loudest for all to cherish. Rest well #12
