On June 17, 2022, Jesus in Heaven sent one of His beloved angels down to Earth and said, “Well Done.” Our beloved sister, Mary Lee Johnson, answered that call and went to the mansion prepared by our Savior. She stood on the promise of her Lord.
Sister Mary Lee Johnson was born to the late Sammie Lee and Betty Mae Johnson.
She was a faithful member of Catoe Chapel Church Of God In Christ, where she accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. She was a member of the Usher Board, Pastor’s Aid and also one of the most joyful door greeters. Mary was educated in the Kershaw County Public Schools and graduated in the Class of 1980. She was employed at the Pantry in Camden, South Carolina for twenty plus years, where she met so many friends, whom she always made laugh and smile. She was so full of joy, always a loving, caring and the most generous person to everyone she crossed paths with in life. Her favorite saying was, “I know that’s right.”
She was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Bracey and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Her loving memories will always be cherished by her five sisters, Geneva Johnson of Elgin, SC, Betty Ann Johnson of the home, Gwendolyn (Bobby) Mickens of Sumter, SC and Nita (Jeremy) Wright of Rembert, SC and Mary Ann Peoples of Bishopville, SC; four brothers, Sammie Lee Johnson, Jr. of the home, Bobby Johnson of Bethune, SC, Richard Johnson of Wilmington, NC and Eric Johnson of Bethune, SC; three god-children, Rodney Miller of Camden, SC, Erica Bracey of Greensboro, NC and J’lea Wright of Rembert, SC. She also helped raise Janelle Holliday and Trinity Reames, she had a special friend that was very close to her, Maggie Smith; a very dear friend, Scott Goff and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
