Mary (Miller) Warren

November 24, 1945 ~ April 6, 2021 (age 75)

Mrs. Mary Louise Miller Warren was born on November 24, 1945, to the late Jake Monroe Miller and Louise Dennis Miller in Boykin, South Carolina.

Mary was a 1963 graduate of Jackson High School in Camden, SC, where she was a popular cheerleader, known for her love of dancing and her sense of humor. Upon graduation she moved to Rhode Island to pursue employment. After a few years, she returned home to Camden, South Carolina, where she was employed by B.F. Goodrich for a number of years. After 30 years of service, Mary retired from EI Dupont. Upon retirement, Mary’s passion for cooking led her to start Daddy-O’s Catering, where she spent many years offering catering services to people in her community and surrounding areas.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Mary. Renowned for her cooking skills, Mary was a remarkable cook. She enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, and had a way around the kitchen. She made sure anyone who entered her doors were fed and felt welcomed. Mary’s pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met, always making everyone around her laugh with joy.

Family was the core of Mary’s life, the love she had for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren knew no bounds and she embraced every moment with them. The prominent matriarch of her family and pillar in the community, Mary was loved by all who encountered her gentle spirit and generous heart.  She had the uncanny ability to find happiness through seeing others happy.

Mary’s life was a living example of, Ephesians 4:32 --- “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”

A faithful and committed servant to our Lord and Savior, Mary grew up in a Christian home with Christian morals and values. Mary was a faithful member of Broom Hill Baptist Church, where she attended regularly, until her health declined. While she wasn’t able to attend as often, Mary ensured she supported the church through various avenues.

On October 24, 1969, Mary married the love of her life, Robert Warren, who preceded her in death in 2019. Mary and Robert shared an unconditional love for each other, both being able to unselfishly provide each other with the love, care, and support each needed. Now they are reunited in Heaven.

On Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at 8:15 in the morning, at her home, God dispatched his angels to accompany Mary to her heavenly home. After an extensive battle with cancer, that she fought with extreme strength and dignity, God saw her becoming weary and saw fit to unite her with her beloved husband, Robert, and parents, Jake and Louise.

Surviving to cherish her legacy; two daughters, Regina Warren-Crim (Jasper) and Rochelle Warren-Council (Charles); six grandchildren, Markeita Warren-Barber (Torri), Sterling Council, Robert Council, Ja’Lantra Crim, Ja’Varis Crim, and Ja’Nai Crim; three great grand-daughters, Phalyn Crim, Ava and Kenzley Barber; two great grand-sons, Torri Barber Jr. and Jace Robert Hadden; two sisters, Ruth Mills and Vicki Bracey; two brothers, Monroe Miller (Eunice) and Herbert Andrew Miller; two sisters-in-law, Francina Warren and Estelle Warren; three god-children, Adrienne Miller Blanchard, Monique Thomas, and Johntrell Bracey; two special bonus sons, Craig Stuckey and Dr. James L.
