Rosa Lee (Furman) Clark (known by family as Sista) was born in Kershaw County on April 27, 1936 and was the fourth of eight children from the late Cais Furman Sr. and Beulah Holmes Furman. She was called home for eternal rest on June 22, 2022, at McCloud Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina.
Rosa Lee attended Jackson High School and accepted and received Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at an early age. Rosa Lee worked and retired from the Kershaw County School District. She served many years as the President of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Association Ministers and Deacons Trustee Wives Auxiliary, served on the Senior Choir, Usher Board, and a member of the Willing Workers Christian Organization. She was the Past Worthy Matron and active 50 year member of Composite Chapter #227 O.E.S.
Rosa Lee loved taking care of her family and cooking for them. She enjoyed sewing and Christmas time with all her family. She loved her daytime Soap Operas, Matlock and In the Heat of the Night. Rosa Lee was a sweet, God-fearing woman who stressed the importance of prayer, living life to the fullest and treating others as you wanted to be treated.
Rosa Lee lived a righteous 86 years and was preceded in death by her devoted husband, John W. Clark; her parents, Cais and Beulah Furman; four brothers, Cais Jr., Ralph, Raleigh, William and three sisters. Belle, Josephine and Beulah Mae.
Left to cherish her memory are: her beloved daughter, Willie Mae Carney of Cassatt, South Carolina, grandsons Devin (Osayande) Jones of Kershaw, South Carolina, Kiryenski Jones of Prince George, Virginia, Jonathan (Robyn) Jones of Elkridge, Maryland and Anwar (Danielle) Jones of Goose Creek, South Carolina. Rosa Lee also leaves to cherish her memory, 2 brother-in laws, 2 sister-in laws, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, and other family members and friends.
