Betty Jean Cabbagestalk Missouri entered eternal rest on Monday, February 25, 2020. She was born to the late James Cabbagestalk, Sr. and the late Alice Porter, on May 23, 1944, in Lee County, South Carolina.
She met and married the love of her life, Melvin Missouri, Sr. in Camden, South Carolina.
Mrs. Betty retired from Honeywell Inc. formerly Allied Chemical Inc. after 11 years of service. After retiring, she decided to enter back into the workforce with the Richland County School District serving in the food service department for 7 years.
She was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church serving on the Usher Board, Kitchen Ministry, and the Senior Choir before her health declined.
As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Ernest Cabbagestalk, Edward Cabbagestalk, Troy James Cabbagestalk and Henry Cabbagestalk.
Her beautiful life will be forever be cherished in the lives of her children, Melvin (Diana) Missouri, Jr. of San Angelo, TX; her daughter, Tracy (Danny) Missouri Strickland of Columbia, SC; three brothers, James (Minnie) Cabbagestalk, John (Bertha) Cabbagestalk of Camden, SC and Joe Cabbagestalk of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren, Carlos Missouri and Isaiah Strickland both of Columbia, SC and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a dearest childhood friend, Rose Bishop.
