Ms. Bettye Lyttelle Cooke was born on August 17, 1926 in Camden, South Carolina to the late James Boozer Cook and Alice Doby Cook. She entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 24, 2019, at Springdale Nursing Home in Camden, South Carolina.
Bettye was educated at Boylan Haven Mather Academy. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, presently known as Camden First United Methodist Church. Bettye’s career path extended far beyond most. She was employed by Davis Printing company but she was mostly known as a seamstress in the Camden Community.
Bettye was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Katherine Johnson, Leroy B. Cooke, Mabel Baynard, and Everette Cooke.
She leaves to mourn her passing her nieces, Lauren S. Cooke; Orlando, Florida and Marsha Cooke, grandnieces and nephews, great-grandnieces and great-grand nephews and cousins. Finally, to her caring cousin, Doris A. Cooke for dedicated care and affection during the final years of her life.
