Carol Ransom Davis, daughter of the late Albert and Willie Mae Ransom and wife of the late Johnny Davis, was born February 1, 1952 and departed this life on February 9, 2021, at her residence.
Carol was raised in a loving Christian home; she attended the public schools of Sumter County. She worked for Sumter School District 2 at Rafting Creek Elementary as an administrative clerk for 15 years. Carol was a long-time member of Pine Grove AME Church. She loved the Lord and served in many roles within the church to include assistant church school superintendent, teacher of the women church school class, advisor of the Lay organization, and assistant class leader. Carol loved to garden, travel, sew, and take on various DIY projects. There was nothing she could not do. Most of all she loved her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Johnny Davis; one sister, Bernice Westberry; two brothers, Tommy Ransom, and Albert “Bam Bam” Ransom; and one niece, Sonya Michelle Westberry.
Carol leaves to cherish her memories one son, Nicholaus (Faith) Davis of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren whom she adored, Naomi Caroline Davis and Nicholaus Ransom Davis II; one sister, Berma Harper of Hyattsville, MD; one brother, Frederick Carl Ransom of the home; three nieces; five nephews; one sister-in-law; one godson and a host of family, friends and loved ones.
