Obituary

Ms. Christine Cook entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 22, 2023, in Columbia, South Carolina, at MUSC Health, where she was visited by family and friends. Christine was 77 years old. She was born in the town of Camden in Kershaw County, South Carolina, on October 6, 1945, to the late Eva Cook and Robert Goodwin. 

She was educated in the Kershaw County Schools.  She worked for many years as a housekeeper and babysitter and grew to love them all as her own.

Ms. Cook was preceded in death by her father, Robert Goodwin; mother, Eva Cook; brothers, James Cook and Holland Cook; and sisters, Katie Green, Hattie Lewis, Cleo Powell, and Alberta Galloway.

She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Drakeford; her grandchildren, Calvin Cook and Taneisha Monsanto; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Aleen (Johnny) Harris; a brother, Robert Chambers and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
