Davis B. "Mary Ann" Brown was born on November 5, 1938, in Sumter SC, to the late James (Son) Bennett and Bessie Halley Bennett.
Daisy married Tommy Lee Johnson. Sr. in 1960 and to this union they had two sons, Tommy Lee Johnson Sr. and Kevin Johnson; seven grandchildren, Dale Trottram. (Cordai) of East Orange, NJ, Jerri Johnson of Maryland, Jeremy Johnson of Morrision. NJ, Tommy Lee Johnson Jr. of New Jersey, Arissa Johnson. Austin. TX and Chyna Johsnon Stone Mountain, GA and nine great- grand children.
Daisy was a graduate of Jackson High School. Daisy had a long work career. She went to New York City in 1956 after graduation to live with her big sister Margie Moses. She worked for the Sheraton Hotel for 17 years.
In 1984. Daisy found love again and married Issac Brown. She relocated and moved to Columbus, GA, with her new husband. From this union, she extended her family with two daughters, Susan Brown and Eillean (Stanley) M. McGilberry. Susan had three children, Chandra Mitchell, Alexis Bellamy and Isaac Brown Scott. Eillean had one daughter. Natasha Williams with the additon of two more great-grand children. Ashante Williams & Jamal Amir Williams.
While living in Georgia she returning three times. truly to go back to work. She worked at the Fort Benning, Dimon Elementary School and her last job was at Dunkin Donuts.
She finally retired at seventy-four years of age due to bad knee and back. Her greatest joy was her family and children. She especially love young children. She would feed them to death. she would ask Them every hour if they were hungry She could cook anything and make it taste like à 5 star restaurant. She had a big heart and was a very generous person. She was a very strong woman and would give you her last. However. she had very strong optional and if she thought you done her wrong. she would let vou know and sometimes it wouldn’t be pretty. She was a no nonsense person.
A special grand-daugther Natasha (Tasha) Williams, who was her care giver. especially the last six months. From her son Kevin. I thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart. God will bless you.
Daisy was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Tommy Lee, Sr.; son, Tommy Lee Johnson. Jr.; four sister, Mazie Moses, Elizabeth Ethal “Shuk” Ransom, Francis Bennett, Josephine “Shug” Cox; three brothers, Holland “KC” Bennett, Wilson “Red” Bennett & Luther “Joe Louis” Bennett.
She leaves to cherish her memories husband, Isaac Brown of Columbus, GA; her son, Kevin Johnson of Rembert, SC; her daughter. Susan Brown of Phoenix City, AL; her daughter-in-law, Paheecta Johnson, Maryland; her son-in-law, Stanley McGilberry of Alabama; twelve grandchildren; two great-grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
