Daisy Dian Springs, the youngest of eight siblings, was born June 18, 1959, to Robert and Ethel Springs in Camden, South Carolina. She was educated in Kershaw County Public School System and received her early Christian education as a member of Sanders Creek Baptist Church.
Following high school graduation, Daisy attended South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. Daisy received a Master of Arts degree in Santa Clara, California. After graduation she moved to Washington, DC and a few months later she received a job working for the U. S. Department of State for 38 years.
Daisy was a world-wide traveler. She had multiple overseas assignments to Bern, Switzerland, Berlin Germany, Singapore, and Bangkok just to name a few. Daisy was also a breast cancer survivor.
Daisy was a loving person who loved shopping, and when she found something she liked, she purchased all of it. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Daisy loved to watch movies. She was a 49ers fan and Dallas Cowboys. Daisy was a member of Greater Galilee Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC and had strong ties with Alfred Street Baptist Church in Alexandria, VA where she enjoyed attending the Saturday services.
Daisy retired in 2017 and moved to Charlotte NC. After a short illness, Daisy entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 27, 2024 at CMC Atrium Main in Charlotte, NC surrounded by her family. She preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ethel Springs, a brother Leroy Springs, and two sisters Carolyn Springs and Helen Springs.
Daisy leaves to mourn her passing one brother, Robert (LeVonne) Springs, Camden, SC, three sisters, Dorothy (Fran) Springs, of the home, Cleola Springs, Camden, SC, Delores (Richard) Springs-Penn, Waldorf, Maryland; a sister-in-law, Sylvia Springs; two aunts Josephine Walden and Willie Mae Wright; five nephews Derrick Bell, William Barney, III, Donovon (Sabrina) Springs, Kelvin Springs, and Marcus Barney; three nieces, Tiffany Springs, Sharmaine Springs, and Jasmine Penn; three great-nieces, Jada, Cheyanne, and Deariel; five great-nephews Jerell, Nicholas, Noah, Miles, and Derrick, Jr., and one great-great nephew A’mon; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and special friends.
