Daisy Mae Wells, 62 years young, departed this life on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She was born on August 18, 1960, in Plainfield, New Jersey, to the late Rev. Dr. Willie Wells, Jr. and Alice Wells. It is said that departing on your birthday indicates you have completed your God-given earthly mission and we all know Daisy complete this task!
Daisy lived most of her life in Plainfield, New Jersey. She attended Youngstown University in Ohio, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology graduating Summa Cum Laude. Her love for children began at a young age. After graduating college, she worked as a youth social worker at a correctional facility for young men in Pittsburgh, PA. After her mission was complete and her mark was made, she moved back to New Jersey where she went into corporate America. Daisy soon realized that was not what she wanted. She ended up opening her own private daycare, where she loved and nurtured so many children. Although Daisy did not have children of her own, she loved like a mother of ten.
Daisy leaves to cherish her memory a devoted partner of twelve years, Robert “Bobby” Morris; her brother, Willie “Teddy” Wells, III; Bishop Tyler who she raised as her son; five god-children, Kareem, Tamara, Solomon, Samaad and Saadin. She adored all of Robert’s grandchildren as if they were her own. She also leaves her dear friend, Wanda Lloyd and an abundance of aunts, uncles and cousins.
