Dekwan Lamont Murphy

On February 21, 1996, in Columbia, South Carolina, God gave Jimmy Murphy, Jr. and Kimberly Murphy, a bundle of joy and love, a baby boy they named Dekwan Lamont Murphy.  He entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 20, 2023.

Dekwan attended the public schools in Richland County and technical college in North Carolina. He was full of life and loved to laugh and have fun.

Dekwan accepted Christ in his life and was baptized at an early age.  He was sunshine to everyone and he will be greatly missed. 

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Genubeth Favor and Pearl Scottie Favor; his paternal grandparents, Jimmy Lee Murphy, Sr. and Josebell Murphy.

Dekwan leaves to cherish her memories, his devoted mother, Kimberly Murphy of Camden, SC; his father, Jimmy Murphy, Jr. of Lugoff, SC; his four children, Dekwan, Jr., Kingston and Arnold of the home and Kentavious Bolton; his siblings, Jimmy Lee Murphy, III, Charmarlyn Alexis Murphy of Columbia, SC, Charlie Prince Brown, Freddie Brown and Tyron Anderson all of Camden, SC, a special aunt, Amy Richards and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and childhood friends.
