With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life well lived in Christ, we celebrate the life of Mother Dorothy Mae Robinson, who peacefully transitioned on April 7, 2026. A devoted servant of God, she loved the Lord deeply, walked faithfully in His word, and dedicated her life to uplifting others through prayer, kindness, and service. Her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life, and her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Mother Dorothy Mae Robinson was born on September 4, 1951, in Lake City, South Carlina to Parents David Myeres and Mattie Singletary Myers. After moving to Baltimore Maryland, she attended Forest Park High School where she trained in general business education. In 1971, she was united in holy matrimony to Oliver Wendell Robinson. From this union two children were born: Nicole Hardy and Pamela Robinson. Professionally, Mother Dorothy Mae Robinson worked as a receptionist and office clerk for the cardiology department at the North Charles General Hospital. Later she worked as a receptionist at Akman & Associates. Lastly, she retired from Palmetto Heath in Columbia, South Carolina as a medical billing associate.
She began her spiritual journey at Washington Temple Fire Baptized Church, and was a faithful member at Carter Memorial COGIC, Mt. Hebron COGIC and finally St. Mark COGIC where she served as praise and worship leader, youth leader, mission president, member of the pastor aid committee and mother’s board and church decorator. Mother Robinson was dedicated to serving God and her church family and was especially known as a soloist. Her voice, rich with grace and conviction, lifted hearts and spirits as she sang with a beauty that reflected both her deep faith and her unwavering love for God. Aside from her love of church she had serval hobbies, including sewing, floral design, arts and crafts and baking. All who encountered Mother Robinson felt her loving and nurturing spirit as well as her strong faith.
Mother Dorothy Mae Robinson leaves to cherish her memory, husband Oliver Wendell Robinson, daughters Nicole Hardy (Paster Shelly Hardy Jr.) and Pamela Robinson (Christopher Roberson) and a host of relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by parents David and Mattie Singletary-Myers.
Though she is no longer with us in the physical, her spirit lives on in the lives she touched and the faith she instilled. “Well done, thy good and faithful servant.” Her life was a testament to God’s grace, and she will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
