Mrs. Ethel Joe Tucker was born on April 18, 1935, to the late Miller and Minnie Curdies Gaither Mack. She entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at her home in Camden, South Carolina.
She was educated in the public schools of Kershaw County. She worked for Clemson Extention as a nutritionlist.
She was a member of Canty Hill Baptist Church. She was the founder of the Canty Hill Jr. Choir, later known as the Adult Choir. She was also founder of the Cassatt Community Singers, later known as the C. M. Singers. She served as the Senior Choir President and Choir Leader for thirty years. She also served as a member of the Trustee Board.
Ethel was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jasmine Tucker.
She leaves to cherish her life a daughter, Delores D. Whittiker of Cassatt, SC; three sons, Earl A. Joe and Johnnie Joe both of Cassatt, SC and Nathaniel Taylor of Turkey Creek, SC; six adopted children, Cheryl Tucker, Tyris Tucker, Tiffany Portee, Betty Oliver, Jimmie Oliver, Jr. and Jennifer Oliver all of Camden, SC; three sisters, Alma Adams, Rachel Gooden and Rosa Lee all of Camden, SC; ten grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; special friends, Lelia Boykini, Annie Ruth Richardson, Mary Johnson and Martha Halley; a cousin/sister, Edith Cotton and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
