Evangelist Dorothy Mae Mathis Moore was born on October 14, 1947 in Sumter County, SC to the late Hollie Mathis and Rosa Jenkins Mathis Brailsford. Evangelist Moore departed this earthly life on July 14, 2022, at her home.
She was educated in the Lee County Public School System. Evangelist Moore relocated to New York City. There she met and married the love of her life, Elder Percell Moore. To this union, two loving children were born, Marvin Moore and Michelle Moore-Walker.
Evangelist Moore accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. Her spiritual walk with the Lord began at Emmanuel Pentecostal Faith Church in Bronx, NY. There she was an active member of the Marines Missionary Auxiliary. She later relocated back home and became a faithful member of St. Mark Church of God in Christ in Camden, South Carolina.
Evangelist Moore was the youngest of twelve children.
She was preceded in death by ten siblings, Fannie Brisbone, Frances Demeary, Mazzie Mathis, Annie Mae Wactor, Mary Emma Carter, Annette Gary, Rev. Isaac Mathis Sr., James Mathis, Lee Grant Mathis and Joe Louis Mathis.
Evangelist Moore leaves to cherish her precious memories a devoted husband, Elder Percell Moore of Lugoff, SC, two loving children; Marvin Moore of New Jersey and Michelle (James) Walker of Ridgeland, SC. Three beautiful grandchildren; Jacob Delucia, Victoria Walker and Grace Walker. A loving sister, Leenora (Thomas) Jenkins, Bronx, N.Y., a sister-in-law, Liberty Mathis, Camden, SC., and a brother-in-law, Gerald (Charlene) Moore of Delaware and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
