Mrs. Flora Stoney entered into eternal rest on February 25, 2020. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 31, 1938, the eldest child of Irene and Joseph E. Clark.
She received her education in the Kershaw County School System.
While living in New York, Flora was reunited with Columbus Stoney (deceased) her husband of fifty-six years. During that union of marriage, they were blessed with five daughters, Georgette, Gwendolyn, Brigitte, Sharon and Towanda (Herbie) all of New York. Flora worked at Victoria Vogue in New York for many years before deciding to take some time off to be a full-time homemaker for her family. In 1978, she returned to work at Marine Midland Bank, New York until she retired in August 2000 at the age of 62. In her spare time, Flora enjoyed reading and studying her bible, cooking, shopping, listening to music, attending Broadway plays, keeping in touch with family and friends, a lover of fine fragrances and entertaining her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very family oriented.
She was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Flora was a loving mother, grand-mother and great-grand-mother. Those left to cherish her memories are her five grand-sons, Kosahn (Julie), Rahshon (Tameka), Aikeem (Nyema), Darius; one grand-daughter, Columani; six great-grandsons, Amir, Brian, Damonte, Adonis, Joaquin and Chase; four great-granddaughters, Imani, Briana, Skye and Amirahhe; two brothers-in-laws, Robert (Mary) and George a.k.a. Bobby (Eleanor) of New York; six sisters-in-law, Jessie Lee of New York, Mary Jane, Inez, Mittie (Sam), Virginia (Issac) and Vermell (Reverend Bennett) all of South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many well-wishers.
She will truly and dearly be missed by all of us and those who knew and loved her.
