Frank Lee Favor was born on July 10, 1945, in Kershaw County to the proud parents of Genubeth Favor, Sr. and Leila Bell Gibson-Favor. He departed this life on July 17, 2025, at MUSC Health Medical University of South Carolina.
Frank spent his earlier years attending Hickmon Elementary and Jackson High School. Frank was a dedicated employee of several jobs throughout his life such as Transportation Services, Ray Thompson & C. Ray Miles Construction, Environmental Services at Dupont, and Kendall Textile Mill. Bro. Favor was a member of Composite Lodge #372, a member of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodges of South Carolina for almost 50 years. His dedication and commitment to the work of Masonry was very valuable and he was always willing to lend a helping hand as long as his health permitted. Frank accepted Christ at an early age at Red Hill Baptist Church, where he served faithfully.
During his many years at Red Baptist Church, he served on the trustee board, male chorus, and adult choir, and he was the church treasurer for 45 years. On July 18, 1999, he was ordained as a deacon, and he served faithfully until his passing.
Frank’s hobbies included cutting hedges, cutting grass, umpiring games for many years, spending time with his grandchildren and family, taking his grandchildren to school as well as attending their soccer and basketball games, in addition to eating fish and his many sweets, but most importantly, singing in his church. Frank loved his church and his church family dearly. Frank was reunited in spirit with two of his children, Frankie Favor and Dianne Favor; his parents, Genubeth and Leila Bell Gibson Favor; and five of his siblings, Juanita Pearl, Maryetta McGee, Herbert Favor, Genubeth Favor, Jr., and Cleophis Favor.
