Henry “Jewboy” Carter, Jr. departed his life on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Springdale Healthcare Facility. Born in Camden, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Henry and Ellen Cooke Carter.
Henry joined St. Matthew United Methodist Church at an early age. He was educated at St. Matthew and Jackson High school. He was well known for his skills as a carpenter. He loved baseball and basketball which is a family tradition. In his early years, he was employed at Jimmy Cliatt Home Builders and worked with Mr. Joy building houses.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry, and Ellen Cooke Carter; sisters: Ruth Bradford, Bertha Davis, and Bessie Huntley; brothers: James E. Carter, Marion Carter, Isiah Carter, and Charles Carter.
Henry leaves to cherish his memories: a son, Reginald Carter of Camden, SC; a daughter, Diane Carter of Camden, SC; five grandchildren, Eric Cook, Joshua Lawson, Michael Hunt, KeShawn Truesdale and Fantaisa Carter; six great- grandchildren, Nyera Mitchell, Latravious Wilson, Uylissa Robinson, Kanasis Hunt, Kamyah Hunt and My’Kel Hunt; his siblings, Minnie Williams, Easter Davis, Isaac (Mary) Carter, Rebecca Jones, Ellen (Vaughn) Williams and Luther (Wanda) Carter; sister-in-law, Mary H. Carter and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends.
