Master Jae’Lyn Dwayne Wells was born July 8, 2009, at MUSC Health Kershaw Medical Center to Courtney Paige Nelson and Kevin Dwayne Wells, both of Camden, South Carolina. Sadly, his life was taken too soon at the age of 13. Jae’Lyn took his last breath at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital on June 11, 2023.
Jae’Lyn was a very funny, energetic and smart kid with a strong personality. He was very optimistic about things, and hopeful for his future. He enjoyed playing footbal, and running track. Jae’Lyn was looking forward to going to high school this upcoming year and trying out for the football team. He cherished his family and friends who enjoyed being around. Jae’Lyn was a very optimistic and always saw the bright side of things, no matter what the situation was. He was so full of life and wanted to live it to the fullest. Although he was young, he left footprints on the hearts of many. At school and throughout the community, his presence was delightful and he will genuinely be missed.
When God called Jae’Lyn home on June 11th, he left behind to cherish his memory, his parents, Courtney Paige Nelson Davis (Shawn Davis), and Kevin Dwanye Wells (LaDeidra Mickens) both of Camden, South Carolina; five brothers and one sister, Justin Nelson, Mi’Kye Nelson, Khylan Wells, Jamontae Wilson, Donte Canty and Kier Atkins all of Camden, SC; his paternal grandparents, Chick and Mae Frances Wells of Camden, SC; his maternal grandparents, Millicent Nelson and Frank Clea Jr. of Camden South Carolina; four special aunts whom he loved very much, Ms. Meccah Nelson (Devin Bracey), Melissa Clyburn, Cynthia (Jamar) Rubin, Shawanda Wells and two uncles Marlon Salmond and Terrance Harrell, all of Camden, South Carolina and a host of other uncles, aunts, cousins and family members that he held near and dear to his heart.
Jae’Lyn established life-long relationships with friends who eventually became family. Nine of his very close friends stayed by his side until he took his last breath. They were Joseph Vega, Joseph Reed, Zay Smith, Jahmier Thompson, Ayden Meares, Alijah Drakeford, Jacinda Massey, Serenity Bethea and Latravious Wilson.
