Jaleesa Gabrielle Boykin, also known as “Tookie” was born September 14, 1989, to Cleveland Boykin and Laura Boykin. She departed this life on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at her home.
Jaleesa loved the Lord and was always ready for Praise and Worship. Her favorite hymn was Yes, God Is Real. As a youth, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She worked diligently in Pine Grove A.M.E. Church in several capacities. She was a member of the Praise Team, Usher Board, Young Adult Ministries, The Allen Christian League, and she worked at every Vacation Bible School with the beginners class, crafting for Christ.
Jaleesa loved her family and friends, but her nieces and nephew were her heart’s delight. Jaleesa was employed at Prisma Health Tuomey. Past employment includes South Carolina State Department of Health and Human Services, United Way, and CitiTrends. In addition to crafting, Jaleesa loved to help plan events and coordinate fun times. Jaleesa served as a bartender and door attendant, and she always found ways to live her best life.
