James was born in Lugoff, South Carolina on August 28, 1936. James was a wonderful, devoted husband to Josephine Robinson, a wonderful father to his five girls, a marvelous grandfather to 13 grandchildren, and an exceptional great-grandfather to a eight great-grandchildren.
He was known to be the life of the party anywhere. He loved dancing, good food, and family. Daddy James was a wonderful cook. He was known for his famous cornbread and biscuits made from scratch. He was an active brother for Jehovah Witnesses in the Elgin, South Carolina congregation. He was a chef at North Jersey Training School in Totowa, New Jersey. He retired as a shipping and receiving manager at Kmart in Elmwood Park, New Jersey.
James was a wonderful devoted husband of 50 years to Josephine Robinson, a wonderful father to his five daughters, Linda (Edward) Whitmire of Passaic NJ, Brenda Williams of Lugoff SC, Lucinda P. Freeman of FL, Jennifer Robinson Stewart of Charlotte NC, and Danielle (Randy) Goodwin of Rock Hill, SC; a marvelous grandfather to 13 grandchildren; an exceptional great-grandfather to eight great-grandchildren. James leaves to cherish his memories two sisters, Carolia Brown and Rosa Corbin both of Lugoff, SC; one brother Robert Flemming and a host of other relatives and friends.
