John Wilson, Jr.

John Wilson, Jr. was born to the late John Wilson, Sr. and Lillie Belle Oliver Wilson in Camden, South Carolina, and departed this life August 22, 2025.

He was educated and attended Jackson High School. He was affectionately called "Big John" at an early age by those who knew him.

He received Christ and once served as an officer of the church under the pastorate of his brother at Edwards Chapel A. M. E. Zion Church and at different times attended Mt. Olive A. M. E. Church, New Zion Church, and Life in the Word Church.  He enjoyed listening to gospel music by Luther Barnes, Shirley Caesar, Canton Spirituals, and John P. Kee.

John was preceded in death by sisters Mary Wilson Roberts, Annie Lee Miller and brother Clarence Leon Wilson.

He leaves to cherish his loving and long-lived life, four sisters, Lula Belle Lloyd of Camden, SC, Katie Harrison (Lucious) of Baltimore, MD, Clara Evans of Camden, SC and Shirley Watkins, Orangeburg, SC; one brother,  Marion Wilson (Gwen) of Rock Hill, SC; two brotherly nephews, Jackie Wilson (Lucinda) of Camden, SC and  Jamal Evans (Yvette), Charlotte, NC and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
