Mr. Johnny Michael Pate humbly bowed to God’s will and peacefully entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at his home. He was a son of the late John G. Pate and Serena Berford.
Johnny received his Christian instruction, accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was a member of Christian Fellowship Tabernacle Apostolic, Inc, where he faithfully served as a deacon for many years. He also served as a choir member, Sunday School Superintendent and on various committees in the church. He enjoyed the Word of God and especially sharing it with others.
He was educated at Mt. Pisgah High School in Kershaw County area. He served in the United States Army for eigth years. He was employed at Kendall Mill for years and later he worked at Hardwick Chemical Company for over twenty years. Moreover, he was an avid sports fan.
Johnny leaves to cherish a faithful and devoted wife, of 41 years, Deborah Pate; his children, Latonia (Darell) Gaskins, Stephanie Pate, Yvette Pate, John Pate, Jr., Calvin (Maura) Pate; grandchildren, Daija, Tirek, Tanyia, Deonna, Wendolin, Calvin, Ryan, Chanelle and Cayden; siblings, Kathy Parker, Gordon (Rachel) Pate, Jerome Pate, Sarah Pate, Lewis (Deidra) Cauthen, John (Tamaka) Pate, a late sister, Nicole (Jerome) Willis, Pam Barrows, Audrey Crooks and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
