Mr. Johnny Boy Wheeler was born on April 17, 1946, to the late Willie and Isabell Thomas Wheeler, in Camden, South Carolina. He entered into eternal rest on April 24, 2022.
Johnny was a graduate of Jackson High School class of 1965. While in high school he excel in basketball and football.
He was raised in a Christian home and attended Second Baptist Church (Mt. Zion, Kirkwood) in his youth.
Upon his graduation, he journeyed on to Irvington, New Jersey. He worked at Western Electric in Kearny, New Jersey for a while. In September of 1976, he was hired in a position with General Motors Assembly Plant. He was there for over 30 years, retiring in 2008.
Johnny enjoyed cooking and entertaining but only when he felt like it. He also liked watching Judge Judy and Judge Mathis in his spare time.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Isabell Thomas Wheeler; brothers, Leroy, Jimmy, Lowman and David; and a sister, Ethel W. Staten.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories, three sisters, Margie (Alford) Bennett of Lugoff, SC, Catherine Hollis of Camden and Shirley Reddick of Elgin, SC; two sisters-in-law, Bessie Wheeler of Camden, SC and Deborah Wheeler of Bethlehem, PA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends John Jackson, Freddie Youman, Reginald Perry, Catherine Montgomery, Fannie Alexander, Carol Childs, Alice Davis, Michael Baltimore and Shirley Wood.
