Ms. Josephine James Stradford was born on August 8, 1950, in Camden, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Walter James Sr. and Janie Alexander James. She departed this life at MUSC Kershaw Health on Monday, December 18, 2023.
She was educated in the Kershaw County School system, graduating from Jackson High School in Camden, South Carolina. She was employed at Skyline before going to work at Wateree Elementary where she would retiree. She was an active member of the Gaines Baptist Church where she received Christ at an early age.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents: her husband, Thomas Stradford; a brother, Tom James and a niece, Lacey James.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a son, Darrell (Vanessa) James, three grandchildren she adored Damari, N'Mya, and Nadya James, four brothers, Walter James Jr. ,Rev. Terrence Miller, Rev. Eugene Miller, Ricky Miller, six sisters, Melvenia (James) Frederick, Etheline James, Barbara James, Doris (Steve) Seh, Elaine Miller, and Terri Jones ; five sisters-in-law, Debra James, Ruby Johnson, Mae Francis Stradford, Rosa Bell Stradford, Margie Cameron; two brothers-in-law, Leroy Stradford and Ted (Patricia) Stradford and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
