Kennedy (Kenny) Melvin Allen, Sr., son of the late Reverend Nathaniel and the late Ethel Lucille Rhoden Fleming Allen, was born December 21, 1960, in Camden SC. Kennedy departed this life at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina on June 20, 2025.
Kenny Allen attended the public schools of Kershaw County. He attained a Bachelor Degree in Counseling at Benedict College and became a Recreational Counselor. Kenny loved his family and community.
Kenny gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was a faithful member of Pine Grove A.M.E. Church for many years.
He was preceded in death by his siblings; Edward Flemming, Isaac Allen, Odessa Jones, Estell Scott, Minnie Pearl Allen and Linda Ann Bennett and a loving sister, Greta Flemming.
Kenny leaves to cherish his fond memories, one wonderful son, Dr. Kennedy M. Allen Jr., PT, DPT; six sisters, Yvonne Wilson of Columbia, SC, Margaret (Christie) Bouknight of Baltimore, MD, Evangeline Tucker of Hopkins, SC, Gertrude Hawkins of Camden, SC, Laura (Manuel) Faust of Queens, NY, Tressie Council of Patterson, NJ; seven brothers, Theodore Allen, Timothy Allen, Furman Allen, Arthur Allen all of Camden SC, Marvin Flemming of Charleston, SC, Rudolph Flemming of Eastover, SC and Harold (Cheryl) Flemming of Columbia, SC; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, and friends all of whom will miss him dearly.
