Lewis “Tiger” Jefferson was born in Camden, South Carolina, on March 24th, 1954. He was the son of the late Flora C. Jefferson and the late Lewis Jefferson, Sr.
Lewis’s life was a journey as he touched the lives of many with his loving and God filled words of wisdom that he freely imparted. No matter what the situation he always had a positive attitude and genuine love for God, people, and the word. Lewis’s passion for the word of God was evident as he diligently read his bible and kept it nearby. He spent most of his life in Camden, South Carolina as well as lived for a short time in Charlotte, NC and Rock Hill, SC. It was here in Camden where he learned from his cousin Willie Williams the art of making his handcrafted canes. This became a true love and passion for Lewis, and he perfected his skills in making canes and went on for many years to make thousands of beautifully handcrafted canes that are owned by many. He had a true eye and skill for picking the perfect branch or tree to create a true work of art. Lewis also had a passion for singing and loved to sing.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Theodore Carlos and Lorenzo Carlos as well as his two sisters Carolyn Jefferson and Flora Louise Jefferson.
Wednesday, June 28th, 2023, Lewis transitioned from Earth to his heavenly home.
Those left to cherish his memories include his children, Marcus Mobley, Anthony Melville and Larissa Melville; four grandchildren; siblings, Mary Thomas of Lugoff, SC, Howard Jefferson of Camden, SC, Jimmy Jefferson of Coatesville, PA, Eddie Jefferson of Columbia, SC and James A.
