Mrs. Lillie Mae King-Simon was born on March 31, 1937, in Bethune, South Carolina, to the late Roxie Gantt King and the late Noel King. She was married to the late Eddie Simon and they had nine children.
She attended Kershaw County Public Schools and was a long time member of St. Matthew Baptist Church, where she sung on the choir and held other duties within the church. She loved to sing and her favorite song was, “I’m Out Here on God’s Word.” She attended church until she was no longer able.
She would do anything she could to help anyone. She especially loved children. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Simon; a son, Aaron Simon; her brothers, Major King, Nathaniel King and James King and Sisters, Susie King and Eva Caldwell.
Those left to cherish her memory are her eight children, Edward Simon, Barbara Toney, Marvin (Elouise) Simon, Teresa Smith, Tony Simon, Eddie Simon, Stephanie Simon and Felicia (Keith) Holmes; one sister, Isabelle Woods; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
