Liza Jimenez Obituary

Liza Jane Jimenez was born on June 27, 1945, in Kershaw County, South Carolina. One of Liza greatest joys in her life was birth of her devoted son, Landy Outen.

She graduated from Jackson High School in Camden, South Carolina. She then migrated to New York City in 1969. Liza was employed at the Manhattan Supreme Court from April, 28, 1975 to August 30, 2008 as a Junior Court Analyst. Liza assiduously earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Moreover, on May 17, 2007, an exquisite marital unon was formed with Ernie Jimenez.

Liza began her spiritual legacy on August 16, 1975, in symbolizing her dedication to Jehovah by water baptism. She enjoyed the beautiful association of the Atlantic Congregation, Parkside Congregation and the Vanderbilt Congregation in Brooklyn, New York for many years. During the fall of September, 2020, Liza and Ernie relocated to Bethune, South Carolina. They continued their journey and began associating with the Bishopville Congregation.

One of Liza’s joys in life was making homemade jelly, I mean, delicious jelly that would melt in your mouth. She also loved touring around the world especially attending International Conventions as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses International Delegates. Liza whole heartedly shared the Kingdom good news with others. Her love for Jehovah remained strong even when her health began to deteriorate. Despite her declining health, Liza never missed a tie-in-phone line or Zoom meeting except when it was due to technical difficulties. Liza always did her best as a servant of Jehovah. She will be missed.

Liza was preceded in death by her father, Walter Peebles; mother, Lovina Peebles; three sisters, Jessie Sweetenburg, Sadie Farmer and Betty Goins and three brothers, Bennie, Walter and Louis Peebles.

Liza is survived by her husband, Ernest Jimenez; her son, Landy Outen; a sister, Willamae Baskins; a brother, Charles Peebles and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
