Mack Murry Murphy was on born September 3, 1954, in Lugoff, South Carolina, to the late Jimmy and Joise Bell Murphy. He passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby Mae Murphy; two brothers, Albert Murphy, Sr. and Grover Murphy and two sisters, Iola Halley and Tamela Murphy.
Mack served his country faithfully in the military for thirteen years after graduating from Lugoff Elgin High School. After his military career, he worked various construction jobs including one at Camden Dupont Invista site as a Scaffold builder. Even though he was not a church goer, he still read his bible and prayed to the Lord regularly. Mack was always known for riding around on his moped or what he calls his Harley Davidson. When you see him, he always has a story to tell even when you may not want to hear it. One thing we can say is he knew his way around cars. When you had a problem with your truck or car, Mack was the go to person. He was everyone's shade tree mechanic. He was a genuine and one of a kind person. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Mack leaves behind his one daughter, Katrice (Howard) Murphy of Camden South Carolina; four grandchildren, Jailese Murphy of Greenville South Carolina, Irena Simms, US Navy stationed in California, Titeanna Murphy and Beyontia Murphy both of Blythewood South Carolina; five sisters, Willie Mae Murphy, Linda Wood, Beverly Belton and Ruby (Eric) Swanson all of Lugoff, South Carolina, and Nellie (Henry) Stover of Camden, South Carolina; one brother, Jimmy Lee Murphy of Lugoff, South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
