Mrs. Maggie Williams Fowler was born on May 17, 1938, in Elgin, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Mac Williams and Hattie Belton Williams. She peacefully departed this life in her sleep at her home on Monday, December 11, 2023.
Maggie “Mackie” was a true life matriarch to her family as well as to anyone that had the pleasure of meeting her.
Maggie was preceded in death by her husband, three sons, one daughter, four grandchildren, four brothers and six sisters.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a son, Vaughn (Ellen) Williams, three daughters, Barbara Ruiz, Frances Wood and Vicki Fowler; a son-in-law, Ty L. Benson, Sr; nine grandchildren, Lisha Wood, Neysa Williams, Tiffany (Tony) Bennett, Sherekia Tillman, Kristen Ruiz, Wyletta Sims, Teolynski Ellis, Christine Benson and Ty Benson, Jr.; thirteen great-grandchildren, Kemora Benson, Alana Handon, Edrick Wood, Ashunti Sims, Jaylen Bell, Jakai Bell, Nevaeh Tillman, Mark Sims, Raymond Jones, Destiny Sims, Brajeret Jenkins, Jr., Martrell Williams and Kennedy Williams; one great-great grandchild, Aspen Wood, three honorary sons, Eric Stover, Marvin Walker and Charles Shelley; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and honorary children.
