Marilyn Elaine Pate, was born on April 27, 1951, to Willis and Doris Pate Mickle. She was the third of four children. She entrrrd into eternal life on Saturday, December 28, 2024.
She attended Sanders Creek Baptist Church and Oak Ridge Baptist Church in her youth. She was a life-long Camdenite and attended Kershaw County Schools and graduated from the amazing Jackson High (Tigers) in 1969. She played basketball and was once the MayDay Queen.
She worked various jobs to include textile manufacturing, cashier and cook, just to name a few. She never met a stranger and seemed to be blessed with the "gift of gab". She loved telling stories about her Uncle Jim, Grandfather Anderson and Grandmother Laura, who was like a second mother. Family was special to her and she tried her best to know them all.
Left to cherish her memories are her two daughters, Natatasha and Dawn Lewis, 1 sister Delores (Marshall) Osborne, 2 brothers, Larry (Jackie) Pate and Michael (Acquinetta) Pate, five beautiful granddaughters, Ryan, Denver, Caden, Kendal and Peyon, two great-grandsons, Grayson and Kree (whom she adored) and a lifelong friend, much like a sister, Cleola Barney. She is survived by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and countless other family members that will also miss her.
