Mary Anne Clark, the only child of the late Mary Myers Clark and Walter Clark, was born on October 4th, 1961, in Camden, South Carolina. On August 14th 2025, she entered into eternal rest and gained her heavenly wings.
Mary grew up in Cassatt, South Carolina and was educated in the public schools of Kershaw County. She is a graduate of Camden High School and went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina.
Mary was a lifelong member of Canty Hill Baptist Church. And a supporter of Red Hill Baptist Church. While away from home, she regularly supported First Nazareth Baptist Church in Columbia South Carolina.
Mary was employed by the State of South Carolina. She spent her first few years teaching deaf children and was fluent in American sign language. She went on to continue her career with the Department of Social Services and the Department of Health and Human Services, retiring after more than 36 years of service.
Her kind and generous ways will always be cherished by all who knew her. She always gave and extended herself to those in need. Whether family, friend, neighbor or stranger. If you were hungry, she would make sure you were fed, if you needed a place to stay, she would make sure you were housed, she gave everyone who needed it; a lifted spirit, a smile or an encouraging word. She always had an open ear and a shoulder to lean on. The world was a better place because of her presence.
Those left to cherish her memories are her devoted partner, Harrison Jones, special cousins, Myrtle Hubbard (Donald), Marvell Clyburn, Jessie Mae Robertson, Ruby Jones, Col. (Retired) Eli Ballard (Sara); special sisters, Patricia Moorer, Ericca Wallace (Andre), H. Loretta Brown, Sheila Gibson (Carl), Tracey Scriven(Corwin), Special brothers Joseph McDomick III, Seitu Amenwahsu, David Burgess (Alfreda)…and a host of other relatives and friends.
