Percell Lamont Bartlett was born on September 20, 1942, to the late Julia M. (Tazwell) Bartlett and Mordecai Bartlett.
He was educated in the New Rochelle, N. Y. public school system, graduating from New Rochelle High School in 1960. After graduation he attended Collegiate Business Institute New York, N.Y. majoring in Business Administration.
During his career he worked with The 7-Up Bottling Co. and Dutch Masters Cigar Co., until he joined The New York City Police Department from which he retired after 20 years of service. Upon retirement he continued to work in security positions with The Andol Corporation, and Paine Webber.
Percell then went on to work for The Ford Foundation as chauffeur/body guard to the president of the company for another 11 years. He continued to work in part-time security positions for London Town Cars, NBC, The Bank of New York, and Pace University.
Anyone who met Percell, clearly knew his love for sports. He was a die-hard fan of the LA Dodgers, NY Giants, and NY Knicks.
Percell leaves to mourn and cherish his memories: his beloved wife Dolores (Greene) Bartlett; brother Dennis L. and wife Louis Bartlett of New Rochelle, N.Y.; two children, Stacey M. Bartlett, Lanham, MD and P. Lamont and wife Gwendolyn Bartlett, Waxhaw, NC; three grandchildren, Toryan L. and wife Ashanti Bartlett, White Plains, NY, Naya A. and Christian T. Bartlett, Waxhaw, NC.; niece, Danielle J. Roper, Camden, S.C. and nephew, Myles D. Bartlett and sister-in-law Patricia Elmes Bartlett of England UK, and a host of cousins and friends. Brother Steven L. Bartlett and sister-in-law Eloise Waller predeceased him.
