Richard Anthony Blanding entered into eternal rest on October 20, 2019, at home in Lugoff, South Carolina. Born June 30, 1954, he was the son of the late Mr. Alexander Blanding, Sr. and Mrs. Helen Dixon Blanding.
Richard, better known as "Ricky," was raised in a Christian home and attended Unity United Methodist Church. He graduated from Lugoff-Elgin High School. He worked at DuPont, a welder,enjoyed fishing, and was self-employed
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Nelson Blanding; his parents, Alexander Sr. and Helen Blanding and his brother, William "Chip" Blanding.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories, two sisters, Janetta Blanding Giummo and Jeanette (Rickie) Bellinger; three brothers, Alexander Blanding, Jr., Charles Blanding and David (Wanda) Roberts; three uncles, Malolou Blanding, Leroy Blanding and Roosevelt Blanding; five aunts, Albertha Bennett, Flossie Williams, Mary (Nathaniel) Murphy, Maggie Howard and Constance Wheeler; two close friends, John Bennett and Kent Wilson; three God-children, Jaden Dantzler, Zayjah Ellerbe and Jonathan Ellerbe and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends
