Robert James Porter

Robert James Porter was born August 22, 1958 to the late Mr. Ervin Porter, Sr. and Mrs. Addie Lee Goods Porter. He departed this life on December 14, 2021, at his residence in Maryland. 

He attended public schools in Lee and Kershaw county, and graduated from Bishopville High School. After graduating he joined the Marine Corps for several years of service. 

He was united in holy matrimony to Elizabeth Boyd in 1978, and from this union, God blessed them with two children, Jacquelyn K. Porter and Robert L. Porter Jr. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Ervin Porter, Sr. and Mrs. Addie Lee Porter; four brothers; Ervin Porter, Jr., Willie Porter, Henry Porter and Isaac Porter; two sisters; Bessie Mae Simon and Margaret Ann Porter and three sisters-in-law, Annie Lee Porter, Ella Mae Porter and Bernice Porter. 

He leaves to cherish his fond memories, his former spouse Elizabeth Boyd Porter; one daughter, Jacquelyn K. Porter; one son, Robert L. Porter; eight grandchildren, Donte, Alexis, Lashayd, Rakyah, Jacori, Ja’mari, Adrionna and Carter; four sisters, Sarah Lee Porter, Henrietta McCray, Gloria Porter and Louise Porter; three brothers, Albert Porter, Lindon Porter and Luther Porter; one grandaunt, Clara McCroy of Rock Hill and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly.
