MR. SAMMY (DUST) BENNETT was born on August 16, 1951, to the late Leonard and Betty Bennett. He entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at MUSC Health in Camden, South Carolina.
Sam was educated in Lee County public schools and raised in a Christian home. He was employed by Johnny Southernland Construction for 20 years. He was a faithful member of Pine Grove AME Church and served on the Trustee Board as long as his health allowed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Betty Bennett; two sisters, Annie Bell Cauthen and Betty Ann Bennett; and brother, Mike Bennett.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving and caring sons, Samuel Andre (Erica) Nelson of Mason, TN, and Kion Bennett of Camden, SC; daughters, Sharon Bennett of Elgin, SC and Teresa (Shamar) Bryd of Elgin, SC; brothers, Norman (Frances) Bennett of Rembert, SC and Leon Bradford of North Carolina; sister, Earlene (John) Graham; four grandchildren, Corez English, DeVante Johnson, Sincere Byrd, and Saniya Byrd; devoted family-in-law presence mother-in-law, Hattie Mae Nelson (Arthur) of Rembert, SC, Anthony (Michelle) Nelson of Columbia, SC, Corrine (Stanley) Johnson of Camden, SC, and Thomasina Bennett of Camden, SC; devoted aunts, Magnolia Graham and Mrs. Sallie Alston; and a host of nieces, nephews, and loving family and friends
