Samuel Stuckey Obituary

Mr. Samuel Donnell Stuckey was born on September 13, 1959, to the late James and Mary Stuckey in Camden, South Carolina.

Sammy was a 1977 graduate of Camden High School in Camden, SC, He excelled in basketball and was a playground legend at the canteen. Upon graduation, he attended Mt. Olive College in Mt. Olive, North Carolina after which he enlisted into the United States Army.  After a few years, when he returned home to Camden, South Carolina, where he was employed by Dana Corporation for a number of years.

On August 15, 1998, Sammy married the love of his life, Sharon Haynesworth Stuckey. Sammy and Sharon shared an unconditional love for each other that started as teenagers, both being able to unselfishly provide each other with the love, care, and support each needed.

On Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 7:15 in the morning, at MUSC in Florence, South Carolina, God dispatched his angels to accompany Sammy to his heavenly home.  God saw him becoming weary and saw fit to reunite him with his beloved parents, Mary and James Stuckey and sisters, Martha Caldwell, Lela Greene, and Sallie Stuckey Alexander and one brother-in-law, Bruce Thomas.

Surviving to cherish his legacy is his wife of 25 years, Sharon Haynesworth Stuckey, his three daughters, Janae’ Stuckey of Houston, TX, DaVache’ Stuckey of Orlando, FL and Phebie (James) Robinson of Camden, SC; one son, Qwan Haynesworth of Camden, SC; eleven grandchildren, Aiden James, Reign Sibilly, Rylee McKenzie, Mar’Quez Carlos, Kayley Haynesworth, Bethany McDaniel, Gabrielle Haynesworth, Malaya Whiters, Nigel Robinson, Jaxson Robinson, McKinley Robinson and a sweet baby boy on the way; three sisters, Lula (James) Greene, Lottie (George) Brisbon, and Edith (Perry) Greene all of Camden, SC; one brother, Charlie (Edna) Stuckey of New York, NY, four sisters-in-law, Joyce Jones of Lugoff, SC, Earnestine Brown and Kathy McCall of Camden, SC and Mamie Holloman of Elgin, SC; three brothers-in-law, Jerry Brown of Columbia, SC, Stevie (Wyvonia) Jones of Camden, SC, and Nathan Green, Sr. of Cassatt, SC, two trusted lifelong friends, Tom Robinson and Issac Salmond and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.
