Willie Edward Hunter, Jr.

Mr. Willie Hunter Jr. transitioned on May 18, 2024 at Life Care of Columbia in Columbia, South Carolina. Born in Camden, South Carolina on December 9, 1946, to Willie and Estelle Hunter (both of whom are deceased).

He was educated in the Kershaw County public school system.  He started his career at a young age. He worked for Camden Tire Company for over twenty-eight years.

Junior and Carrie were married for 58 blessed years and this union lasted until the Lord called him home. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Loretta Hunter, three brothers, Orlando, David, and Sam Hunter, and one sister Mazie Hunter.

His memory will be cherished by his wife Carrie Mae Hunter; his daughters, Mary Diggs of Columbia, SC, JoAnne Yarborough of Prince George, VA and Willine Gilliard (Mike) of Columbia, SC; a sister, Patricia Dempsey of Camden, SC; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other 

.
